As 'black' noted in a previous topic the treatment that a wrongfully imprisoned person receives in prison is certainly no picnic. Many would say, it's a prison, it's not supposed to be pleasant but can that truly be said for those who are remanded and awaiting trial? The law states that a person remains innocent throughout, including during trial and only becomes guilty if and when a judge, sheriff or jury find them so.

The regulations regarding remanded prisoners state that the should be kept separate from convicted prisoners but this is not the case in reality. The fact is that a remanded person has less privileges than a convicted one, are we really supposed to accept it?
